Liz Allen is a pop/rock singer-songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She comes from European and Korean descent and has been singing her entire life. Her mother is a classically trained singer and brought music into Liz’s life when she was a baby by teaching her how to play piano and sing scales and classical music. When she was a little older, her mother enrolled her in tap and ballet classes as well as voice and piano lessons. Liz grew up singing a variety of styles of music including opera, broadway, Disney, and pop. Listening to her favorite artists of the time, (Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Robyn, and the Spice Girls) she began to write her own pop songs at the age of 12. She loved performing songs by her favorite artists whenever she could–including performing in her driveway for the neighborhood. By the end of high school, she had written dozens of songs and had added a little R&B flair to her music. She recorded three songs to start shopping a demo around to labels but was never able to get the tracks mixed and mastered and remained in raw form. After high school, she went to college and majored in Music Industry Studies at California State University, Northridge. There, she met dozens of talented musicians and singers of all genres and started to collaborate with different artists even if their genre was very different. She studied piano for three semesters, classical voice for four semesters, and also learned about recording and the business side to the music industry. Watch out for the movie Alone for Christmas distributed by The Asylum. Liz Allen wrote a song called “My Very Best Friend” for the film and it is in the intro and end credits of the movie. It hits shelves on October 15, 2013 and hits VOD in November.
