Jim Cramer Agency Booking Profile
Jim Cramer graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, in 1977, where he was President, or editor in chief, of The Harvard Crimson. He then worked at the Tallahassee Democrat and the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, covering everything from sports to homicide, before moving to New York to help start American Lawyer magazine. After a three year stint, Cramer entered Harvard Law School and received his J.D. in 1984. He then passed the New York Bar Exam, but instead of practicing law, went directly to Goldman Sachs, where he worked in sales and trading. In 1987 he left Goldman to start his own hedge fund, where over a fourteen year period he delivered a compound return of 24% after all fees, substantially in excess of the market during that same period. While he worked at his fund he helped start Smart Money for Dow Jones and then in 1996, he created TheStreet.com, the on-line journal of opinion and analysis. In 2000, he retired from active money management to embrace media full-time, including radio and television. He is a markets commentator for CNBC and TheStreet.com, host of CNBC’s Mad Money with Jim Cramer, and host of the nationally syndicated talk radio show, Jim Cramer’s Real Money. He is the author of ‘Confessions of a Street Addict’, ‘You Got Screwed’, and ‘Jim Cramer’s Real Money,’ and a columnist for New York Magazine.
