Stockton was an annual All-Star and All-NBA selection and made the NBA All-Defensive Team three times. He teamed with Karl Malone to form one of the most productive and enduring duos in league history. He and Malone were named co-MVP’s of the 1993 All-Star Game and played with one another for all of Stockton’s 19 seasons. In 2000, Stockton set the NBA record for the most games played with one franchise, a remarkable display of devotion to his team during an era of free agency. During those 19 seasons with the Jazz, Stockton displayed his amazing durability by playing in every game in 17 out of his 19 seasons, finishing second on the NBA’s all-time list in games played (1,504). Due to his leadership, the Utah Jazz made the NBA playoffs in all 19 of his seasons and, as a result, Stockton was named as one of the “50 Greatest Players in NBA History”. In addition to his NBA success, Stockton was a member of the original “Dream Team” that won the gold medal in Barcelona, as well as the 1996 “Dream Team” that won gold in the Atlanta Olympics.
