Ernie Els has been one of the most dominate golfers in the world for the past decade and a half. Among his 61 victories world-wide, Els has won three major championships: the US Open in 1994 and 1997, and the British Open in 2002. All told, Els has 15 victories on the PGA Tour and 20 more on the European Tour. Ernie’s career highlights also include topping the 2003 and 2004 European Tour Order of Merit (money list), being named European Tour player of the year three times, and winning the World Match Play Championship a record six times. Els rose to 15th in the world rankings after winning the 2012 Open Championship. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2010, on his first time on the ballot, and was inducted in May 2011.When not playing, Els has a golf course design business, a charitable foundation which supports golf among underprivileged youngsters in South Africa, and a highly-regarded wine-making business.
