Irish trio The Script blend hip hop lyrical flow with pop musicality, state-of-the-art R&B production with anthemic rock dynamics, and classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives. Based in London, the band released their self-titled debut album in August 2008. The album featured hit songs “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven,” and debuted at number one on the charts in both Ireland and the UK. Their second album, Science & Faith, was released in September 2010, and contains hit songs “For the First Time” and “Nothing”. That album debuted at number one in both Ireland and the UK as well, and number three on the US Billboard 200. Their third album, the aptly named #3, was released in the UK on 10 September 2012, charting at number 2 in its first week. The band’s fourth studio album was titled No Sound Without Silence, and featured lead single, “Superheroes.” Lead singer Danny O’Donoghue describes the album as a prequel to their debut album and has stated, “We’d come off stage and start recording straight away in a studio bus. Everything’s massive, everything’s larger than life on stage so when we hit the studio we wanted it to have that same impact.” Their music has been featured in popular television programs such as 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, EastEnders, Made in Chelsea and The Vampire Diaries. Frontman Danny O’Donoghue is also a coach on The Voice UK.
