It had to happen eventually. When you survey previous exports from the city of Las Vegas you see an assortment of suspect hair metal bands and one-hit wonder Toni Basil. It was only ever a matter of time that a group would emerge from Sin City to wipe the slate ceremoniously clean. Enter Brandon Flowers and The Killers. This rock band released their debut album, Hot Fuss, in 2004 and realized immediate success. Carried by the singles “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside,” the album went three times platinum in the United States and earned the band five Grammy nominations. Sam’s Town, was released in 2006, and the compilation album Sawdust containing B-sides, rarities, and new material, was released in 2007. Their third studio album, Day & Age, was released in November 2008.
