Colin Jost

Colin Jost is an American actor, comedian, and writer best known for his work as a head writer and "Weekend Update" co-anchor on the long-running sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live (SNL). Born on June 29, 1982, in Staten Island, New York, Jost developed a passion for comedy at a young age. He attended Regis High School in Manhattan where he honed his comedic skills, eventually becoming the editor of the school's humor magazine.

After high school, Jost attended Harvard University where he continued to pursue his interest in comedy. During his time at Harvard, he was the president of the Harvard Lampoon, the university's humor publication, and contributed to its humor magazine, The Harvard Lampoon. Jost graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 2004 with a degree in history and literature.

Following his graduation, Jost began his career in comedy writing. He worked as a writer for the television show "Kappa Mikey" before joining the writing staff of Saturday Night Live in 2005. Jost quickly rose through the ranks at SNL, eventually becoming a co-head writer alongside Seth Meyers. In 2014, he took over the role of co-anchor on "Weekend Update" alongside Cecily Strong, and later alongside Michael Che.

In addition to his work on SNL, Jost has pursued acting opportunities in both television and film. He has appeared in shows such as "The Simpsons" and "Miracle Workers," as well as films like "How to Be Single" and "Staten Island Summer."

Outside of his work in entertainment, Jost is also known for his writing. He has contributed articles to publications such as The New Yorker and The New York Times, and in 2015, he released his memoir, "A Very Punchable Face: A Memoir," which received critical acclaim.
