Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty, a powerhouse in the alternative rock scene, emerged onto the music scene in 1995 with a unique blend of introspective lyrics, soulful melodies, and a rock edge that resonated with a broad audience. The band hails from Orlando, Florida, and quickly became a household name with their charismatic frontman, Rob Thomas.

Rob Thomas, with his distinctive voice and poignant songwriting, led the charge for the band. The group's name, Matchbox Twenty, is said to be a reference to an old restaurant sign with the letters "MB20" near their original rehearsal space.

Their debut album, "Yourself or Someone Like You," released in 1996, was a massive success. Featuring hit singles such as "Push," "3AM," and "Real World," the album catapulted Matchbox Twenty into international stardom. Rob Thomas's soulful and emotive vocals, combined with the band's tight musicianship, created a winning formula that resonated with fans across the globe.

The band followed up with several critically acclaimed albums, including "Mad Season" (2000), "More Than You Think You Are" (2002), and "North" (2012). Matchbox Twenty released their first album, Yourself Or Someone Like You in 1996. While their first single, “Long Day”, was a rock radio-only smash, the album soon spun off several Top 40 hit singles throughout 1997 and 1998, including “Push”, “3 A.M.”, “Real World” and “Back 2 Good”. 

The album eventually went on to sell over 12 million copies in the U.S. alone, earning diamond status. Matchbox Twenty have sold in excess of 39 million albums worldwide from the releases of ‘Yourself Or Someone Like You,’ ‘Mad Season,’ and ‘More Than You Think You Are.’ After a 3-year hiatus, the band recently regrouped and released the album ‘Exile on Mainstream.’ 

The album features 6 all new-releases, the first of which is the hit “How Far We’ve Come.” The band released ‘North’, their fourth album, on September 4, 2012 which made it its debut at number one on the Billboard 200.
