Marshall Faulk was drafted 2nd overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 1994 and traded to the St. Louis Rams before the 1999 season. During his first year in St. Louis, he helped the Rams win the Super Bowl. He was the catalyst for “The Greatest Show on Turf”, which was the Rams offense’s nickname. Faulk was the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year for three years in a row. In 1999, he set the NFL record for yards from scrimmage, with 1,381 rushing yards, and 1,048 receiving yards for a total of 2,429 yards. Faulk was the NFL MVP in 2000, and was a close runner-up to Rams quarterback Kurt Warner in 2001. He is the only runningback to run and catch for 1,000 yards or more, accomplishing this daunting task in the 1999 NFL season, in which the Rams won the Superbowl.
